What Lantern is

A way to find films by naming the films and people you already like. It costs nothing, carries no advertising and sells nothing. It is run as a personal project, not by a company.

Using it

Use it as a person, for yourself. Don’t scrape it, don’t put automated traffic through it, and don’t try to break it or reach anyone else’s account. Access may be blocked if you do.

Accounts

An account is optional and exists only to keep your lists and your streaming services. Because signing in is by emailed link, anyone who can read your inbox can sign in as you — look after it. You can delete your account at any time from your account page, and it goes immediately.

The film data isn’t ours

Credits, titles and ratings come from IMDb’s non-commercial datasets. Posters, synopses, trailers and streaming availability come from TMDB, whose streaming data comes from JustWatch. That material belongs to them and is subject to their own terms. This website uses TMDB and the TMDB APIs but is not endorsed, certified, or otherwise approved by TMDB.

No promises about the results

Recommendations are suggestions, not advice, and streaming information can be out of date or simply wrong. Check with the service itself before you subscribe to anything or pay for anything on the strength of what Lantern says.

The site is provided as it is. It may be slow, wrong or unavailable, and nothing is guaranteed to keep working. Nothing here removes rights you have under French or European consumer law.

It may change, and it may stop

Lantern is a side project. Features will change, and one day it may shut down altogether. If that happens you’ll be able to export your lists first — and you can do that at any time anyway, from your account page.
